Using evidence to create effective local food environments

The Guide to Local Food Environments is an evidence-based interactive tool for Local Governments.

Using local data, the Guide assists local governments to create Local Food Action Plans that identify:

  • how they currently influence their community's food options
  • existing strategies, policies and programs that influence those options
  • opportunities for action across the natural, built, economic and social/cultural environments to support sustainable access to safe and nutritious food.
